iPhone 16 Pro & Pro Max Screenshot Size for the App Store (2026)

TL;DR: iPhone 16 Pro Max requires 1320×2868 px screenshots. iPhone 16 Pro (6.3") is 1206×2622 px — optional but recommended. If you only submit one set, use 6.9" (1320×2868) — App Store Connect scales it down for all other sizes.

Apple's iPhone 16 lineup introduced two new display sizes that changed the screenshot requirements for App Store Connect. The iPhone 16 Pro moved from 6.1" to 6.3", and the iPhone 16 Pro Max moved from 6.7" to 6.9". If you haven't updated your screenshots since the iPhone 15 generation, your listings are being upscaled — which looks soft on the latest hardware.

Here are the exact dimensions you need.

iPhone 16 Pro Max — 6.9" (1320 × 2868 px)

This is the new required size for the largest iPhone in Apple's lineup.

Portrait: 1320 × 2868 px

Landscape: 2868 × 1320 px

Status: Required. If you support iPhone and don't provide 6.9" screenshots, App Store Connect will upscale your 6.7" assets. This works — your app won't be rejected — but the screenshots look visibly softer on the actual device. For any app that's actively selling, providing native 1320×2868 assets is worth the 20 minutes.

iPhone 16 Pro — 6.3" (1206 × 2622 px)

The 6.3" display is new with the iPhone 16 Pro — there was no previous iPhone at this exact size.

Portrait: 1206 × 2622 px

Landscape: 2622 × 1206 px

Status: Optional. App Store Connect scales 6.5" or 6.7" screenshots down for this size. In practice, the difference is minor — most developers skip it. If your analytics show significant iPhone 16 Pro traffic, it's worth adding.

iPhone 16 Plus — 6.7" (1290 × 2796 px)

Same as the iPhone 15 Pro Max. If you already provide these, you're covered.

Portrait: 1290 × 2796 px

Status: Required if you don't provide 6.9" screenshots. If you submit 1320×2868, this size is covered automatically.

What about older iPhones still in the install base?

If your app targets iOS 14 or earlier and your analytics show meaningful traffic from iPhone 11 or XS Max users, you may also want:

6.5" (iPhone 11 Pro Max, XS Max) — 1242 × 2688 px — Still required by some developers with older deployment targets.

5.5" (iPhone 8 Plus) — 1242 × 2208 px — Optional. Skip it for new apps in 2026.

What you actually need to submit today

For a new app or an app updating screenshots in 2026: submit 1320×2868 (6.9") as your only iPhone size. App Store Connect will scale it correctly for every other iPhone in the current lineup. Add 6.3" (1206×2622) if you have the time and want pixel-perfect screenshots on iPhone 16 Pro. Skip everything else unless your analytics justify it.
